The purpose of the study is to obtain information on the safety and effectiveness of the WaveLight EX500 excimer laser system and software. This laser system is currently FDA-approved for treating hyperopia*. Eligible participants will receive study-related laser eye surgery at no cost and one year of follow up exams/care.
*Hyperopia, or farsightedness, occurs when you see things that are far away better than things that are up close. Your eyes focus better on distant objects than on nearby ones.
To be considered for study participation, patients must meet the following criteria:
- 18 years of age or older
- Hyperopia (+.25 to +3.0) with or without astigmatism
- In good general health
- No previous eye surgery
- Willing to attend a minimum of 9 study visits over the course of 1 year
