Take Our Self-Candidacy Test and Schedule a Consultation in Overland Park

If you’ve spent years of your life grasping for your eyeglasses on your bedside table or frantically putting in contact lenses while running late for work or school, then, at some point, you might have considered laser vision correction surgery.

Even if you were told years ago that you are not a candidate, it is worth your time to look into qualifying again. Advances in modern eye surgery have expanded options for people just like you, who are interested in improving their vision.

Take the Self-Candidacy Test on the Durrie Vision website to learn which laser vision correction procedures may be right for you. Then, schedule a consultation with one of our eye surgeons by calling (913) 491-3330.

About Our Self-Candidacy Test

Our online test to learn whether you might qualify for refractive lens exchange, cataract surgery, or other procedures, like LASIK eye surgery near you, takes only about one minute to complete.

Although it doesn’t take the place of an in-person consultation, the results you get from our quiz can help you determine what your next steps should be and whether you should call Durrie Vision to learn more.

To complete the test, visit durrievision.com/self-candidacy-test/ and click the “Begin Test” button at the bottom of the screen.

What to Expect From Our Laser Vision Correction Test

The first question the test will ask is your age. You’ll need to identify your age from the provided ranges: 18 to 24, 25 to 39, 40 to 54, or 55+. These age ranges are broken down based on the type of changes your vision goes through at certain stages of your life. Once you’ve made your age selection by clicking on the radio button, click “Next” in the bottom right corner of the screen.

You’ll then need to tell us the type of vision correction you currently use, such as eyeglasses, contact lenses, readers or bifocals, or nothing at all. Click the radio button, and don’t forget to click “Next” to proceed to the next step.

If at any point you need to go back and change your answer, click the left-facing arrow at the bottom left of your screen.

The questions continue, asking you what type of vision you have most trouble with, and whether you have astigmatism or other vision problems.

At the end of the test, simply input your contact information. Durrie Vision will never sell your contact information and will use it solely to communicate with you about potential vision correction surgery appointments.

Receiving Your Test Results

The last stage of the test will show you which laser vision correction procedure for which you may be a candidate, based on the information you submitted. Your results also may include a list of other options.

Remember that a customized treatment plan can only be determined through advanced diagnostic testing and an exam with one of our vision surgery experts at our Overland Park office.

After you complete the test and receive your results, Durrie Vision will contact you to talk about next steps to improve how you see.

Paying for Your Vision Correction Surgery

Even if you have incredible vision insurance, coverage providers tend not to pay for laser vision correction. But that does not mean that improving your vision is out of reach.

Durrie Vision in Overland Park can help you finance your eye surgery. Qualified patients put zero dollars down and receive interest-deferred financing for 24 months, allowing them to pay over time with no extra costs. You also can use your FSA or HSA dollars to fund your vision correction.

And when you compare the cost of laser vision correction to the average amount of money you spend on eye care during a 10-year period, you’ll find that it’s actually cheaper than the average cost of contact lenses, and many are nearly comparable to the cost of eyeglasses during the same time period.

When you compare your costs, you are likely to find that eye surgery is a worthwhile investment into your life.
