Recovery time from refractive cataract surgery: Most people notice clearer vision within days. After a one‑day post‑op visit, you can usually resume normal activities while using prescribed eye drops. Your vision continues to improve over the following weeks as your eyes heal. Refractive Lens Exchange
Much like LASIK, refractive lens exchange corrects nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and age‑related presbyopia. By replacing your natural, dysfunctional lens with an advanced intraocular lens (IOL), RLE corrects your vision for near, intermediate, and far distances, while eliminating the risk of cataracts.

About the PRK procedure: During your 10-to-15-minute PRK procedure, the outer layer of the cornea is removed to correct your vision.
Recovery time from PRK: Recovery time is longer for PRK when compared to LASIK, as the outer layer of the cornea needs to heal and grow back. PRK patients can experience optimal results up to a month after surgery.
EVO ICL™
EVO Implantable Collamer® lens (EVO ICL™) corrects nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism without glasses or contact lenses. EVO ICL™ is particularly effective for extreme nearsightedness.
About the EVO ICL™ procedure: During a 20-to-30-minute procedure, we implant an artificial lens between your natural lens and your iris.
Recovery: The results of EVO ICL™ are often noticeable for patients right away. When comparing EVO ICL™ to LASIK, both procedures allow patients to drive and resume normal activities following their one-day post-operative exam.
Small Incision Lenticule Extraction (SMILE)
SMILE is recommended for mild-to-moderate nearsightedness or astigmatism.
You can be eligible for either SMILE or LASIK at age 18, and these options have similar recovery timelines.
The SMILE procedure: During your 10-to-15-minute procedure, we use an extremely small, lens-shaped piece of tissue, called a lenticule, to reshape and correct your vision.
