Determine Your Candidacy For LASIK During a Free Consultation
Your vision correction success story begins with a consultation to find out if LASIK is right for you. Our Advanced Ocular Analysis (AOA) uses state-of-the-art diagnostic technology to determine your candidacy.
Who Is Eligible For LASIK Eye Surgery?
You may qualify for LASIK based on:
Your Age
You must be at least 18 years old to be eligible for LASIK, which is when you have reached ocular maturity and stabilized vision.
Your Corneal Shape and Thickness
Your corneas are the outer, transparent layers of your eyes that allow light to enter, leading to a clear image on your retinas. LASIK reshapes your corneas to correct your vision. If these outer layers are too thin or have been affected by scarring or other surgeries, you may not be a candidate for LASIK. However, you may still be eligible for a LASIK alternative.
Your Prescription Strength and Type
LASIK treats nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. If you have these conditions, you could be a candidate for LASIK eye surgery. Patients with extreme nearsightedness (-10 diopters) may be better suited for EVO ICLs™.
Not Eligible For SBK LASIK?
If we find that you aren’t eligible for LASIK, we offer several additional options that help you meet your vision needs.
- Advanced Surface Ablation (PRK): This procedure benefits those with thinner corneas or careers with high physical impacts.
- SMILE: A minimally invasive alternative to LASIK for mild to moderate nearsightedness.
- EVO ICL™ (Implantable Collamer® Lens): Patients with high prescriptions may benefit from this effective lens procedure.
- Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE): This procedure benefits patients in their mid to late 40s with presbyopia (decline in near vision) due to aging eyes.
